“Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man…” (Genesis 2:18, NLT)”

God is a good God. “For the LORD is good…” (Psalm 100:5). Everything He does is good. “For everything God created is good…” (1 Timothy 4:4, NIV). “Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!...” (Genesis 1:31,NLT). So when God created man, he was good. However, in the opening scripture we see God saying “It is not good…” Note that God didn’t say man (Adam) wasn’t good, rather He was referring to the condition that Adam was in. The condition wasn’t good. Adam was alone and God saw that he needed a companion. What did God do? He went ahead to fix it. “Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.” (Genesis 2:22,NLT). God is a fixer!

There is nothing wrong with you. You are beautifully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). In the eyes of God, you are good. However, like Adam, there may be certain things that can be considered as not good in your life. It could be that you’re not married even when you should be. Maybe you’ve been married for a while now and yet no child. Maybe you’ve been jobless and broke. It's possible that you don’t even have a place to stay or that you’re barely eating daily. Whatever the condition is, it is what God seeks to address in your life. He is after those things that are not good in your life so that He can fix them. You must know that God has good plans for you. “For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11,NLT). He is always assessing your life to ensure that it aligns with His good plans for you. So whenever there is something that is not good, He takes action and goes ahead to fix it.

Knowing that God fixes whatsoever is not good in the life of His children should make you more relaxed. There’s no need to panic about that situation, our God is a fixer and He’s working in the background to fix that not so good condition that you’re in. You will not be single forever. Surely, you will carry your own children. It looked like a long time but Sarah still carried her own children. “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse a baby? Yet I have given Abraham a son in his old age!” (Genesis 21:7,NLT). So it does not matter what your condition is or what the world’s opinion is about it. What matter is that God is aware that the condition you’re in is not good and He would fix it. So, whenever you’re reminded of your not so good condition, remember that God is a fixer and He’s going to fix things in your life.

God needs you to be in deep sleep mode for Him to do His work in you. See what He did with Adam. "So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep..." (Genesis 2:21,NLT). For God to work in the life of Adam, Adam had to be in a relaxed state. This is very important. We are always anxious, worried about the state of things, hearing one bad news or the other, etc. All these can take your attention off God. So God needs you to be asleep. When you're asleep, no matter how bad your condition is, you're unaware. In a state of sleep, dollar rate, fuel price, your unpaid rent, whether you're married or not, all these don't matter because you're unaware of them. You only begin to think about them again once you are awake. How do you achieve this state of rest, where you are not aware or worried about what is going on in your life or around you? "Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28,NLT).

It was God who caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, He alone can give you "sleep". He said to come to Him if you're burdened and He'll give you "sleep". You need to commit those situation to Him and then trust Him. When your trust is on Him and His Word, His peace will overwhelm you, making you to be not afraid or worried even in a very bad condition.

Beloved, God needs your cooperation. He needs you to fall asleep so that He can do His work in you. So if you're burdened and always worried, this will be a good time to talk to Him and ask Him to give you rest (sleep) so that He can work unhindered in you.

"At last!" the man exclaimed..." (Genesis 2:23 NLT). When God was done with Adam, the bible says he shouted, "At last!" This too will be your testimony. When God is done fixing you up, turning things around for your good, when those deals begin to close, when you pay that rent that's due, when you get married, when you give birth even after many years of waiting, etc, you too will shout "At last!" Sarah had a similar experience. After being childless for many years after marriage, she finally gave birth to a child and the bible said she laughed. "And Sarah declared, "God has brought me laughter. All who hear about this will laugh with me." (Genesis 21:6, NLT). I remember being in church and someone was sharing his testimony. At a point everyone stood up and people began to sow seeds to connect with his testimony. That is the kind of testimony that you will have once God is done with you. "When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed." (Psalm 126:1, NIV). Great restoration is coming your way in Jesus Name.

"Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, 'Surely the LORD is in this place, and I wasn't even aware of it!'" (Genesis 28:16 NLT). It is important to be sensitive to what God is doing in you and for you. Lack of awareness has cost many God given opportunities to come out of their conditions. When God brought the woman to Adam as a solution to His condition, He knew immediately (Genesis 2:23). You will not wake up married, you need to be aware when the right man/woman comes along. You need to be aware of the right deals to chase and the ones you should ignore. You need to be aware of the financial opportunities God is bringing you way to bring you out of your financial issues. You need to be aware of relationships that God is bringing your way for your own good. You must be sensitive to what He's doing in your life and for you so that you don't miss out.

I am confident that God is at work in you and for you and that soon you too will shout, "At last!"
